TELEHEALTH

Telehealth is a unique and rapidly evolving platform for the delivery of healthcare services.  It allows for convenient access to your healthcare provider–especially when circumstances limit on-site visits–through the use of electronic communications.

Does it look and feel the same as seeing your physical therapist face-to-face?  We think so.  The largest difference is our inability to perform any manual therapy or hands-on guidance during our sessions together.  We know you value this as much as we do and what you may miss in human contact, we accommodate in all other ways.

Our ability to evaluate, make a diagnosis, design, and progress a treatment plan, educate, prescribe exercise, and restore meaningful activities into your life, stays exactly the same!  We see this as a great opportunity to expand our exceptional care from our office into your home.

Telehealth visits are currently open to all clients who are physically located in WA State at the time of their visit. To schedule your telehealth visit, please call us at (360) 752-2673 or fill out and submit the form at the bottom of this page.

So, relax, take a deep breath, and we look forward to connecting (virtually) soon!

Telehealth FAQs

  • For suitable clients, benefits of telehealth include:

    • Convenience: Access highly-skilled clinical care from the comfort of your home, a fantastic option for clients who have long commutes, kiddos to keep an eye on, driving restrictions, limited mobility, limited public transportation options, or a packed schedule.
    • Affordability: Choose to schedule telehealth as it meets your budget, while avoiding the cost of gas and extra time off work for the drive and wait after check-in.
    • Continuity of care: Touch base between visits or during extraordinary circumstances, like the COVID-19 outbreak.
    • Improved outcomes: Consistent care yields better results, and telehealth eliminates barriers to care.

Telehealth is not a replacement for traditional clinical care, but is a complimentary service that will provide our clinical staff the opportunity to offer skilled care in a greater capacity.

We will want to know the details of your problem, which can take some time as many clients may
have had quite a journey to get to a skilled pelvic health PT. We realize you have likely filled out many forms in the past, however it is very important to complete your client self-assessment before the visit. Your physical therapist will want to know what surgeries or procedures you have had, what medications you are on and what your general health is like, even if you don’t think it has anything to do with your pelvic health. They will want to know what makes your symptoms worse and how it affects your life. What may be ‘TMI’ for others is not for your pelvic health care. Sharing detailed information helps us help you heal.

The primary difference with having a problem in your pelvis, compared to having a problem in your shoulder for example, is that it affects some of life’s most important functions. Your CorePhysio PT will ask you about how often you go to the bathroom, whether it is painful to urinate or have a bowel movement, and if symptoms have affected your sexual function. After all, the aim of treatment is often things like being able to have intercourse again without pain, being able to sit through a movie without having to get up to go to the bathroom, being able to have a pain free bowel movement, or returning to hiking or working out without leaking.

Your CorePhysio PT will evaluate your posture, spine, pelvic joints and hips, as well as your internal pelvic floor. After giving you in-depth information about the drivers of your pain, you’ll learn what steps you can take right away to begin regaining freedom and control. Together, you and your therapist will develop a strategic plan for your healing.

  • At least one hour prior to your scheduled telehealth appointment, your clinician will either email or text you a link. Click the link, and in just a few moments, you and your clinician will be able to see and hear each other in real time!

Your clinician can demonstrate mobilization techniques, check your range of motion, progress your home exercise plan, and much more.

  • Just as you would for an in-clinic visit, wear comfortable clothing and maximize your time with your clinician by being on time for your session with questions in hand.

Additionally, please complete the following prior to your telehealth visit:

    • Make sure your electronic devices (phone or computer) are charged and ready to go.
    • Clear your space to ensure adequate room for movement.
    • Have any equipment you typically use in your program nearby.
    • We love kids and pets, and we want you to be able to focus on your care. Consider dedicating an interruption-free area when possible.

  • An increasing number of commercial insurances do–and more are being added each day. As of May 2020, the following insurances have covered CorePhysio telehealth visits:

    • Kaiser (including MedAdvantage plans) – copays & coinsurance waived
    • Cigna
    • Regence
    • Premera
    • Aetna
    • Medicare
    • Labor & Industries

Because each insurance has a unique policy, each client has a unique plan, and insurance companies are changes policies daily, the best way to find out if telehealth is covered under your plan is to contact your insurance company directly. We recommend logging into your insurance company’s online member site or calling the number on the back of your insurance card for more information.

When you contact your insurance company, asking the right questions is key:

    • Are physical therapists eligible for telehealth payment under my plan?
    • Are my out-of-pocket costs (copay, co-insurance, deductible) going to be the same for a telehealth visit?
    • Are there any restrictions on my or my physical therapist’s locations (at home, etc.)?
    • What is the reference number and name of the agent answering my questions?

We are staying nimble and adapting as quickly as possible to updates provided by any of our contracted insurances.

  • Just as with an in-person visit, the cost can vary depending on the length of the visit and, for those with insurance coverage, your insurance company’s contracted rates.

If you would like to pay privately for your telehealth visit, either because you do not have insurance coverage or your insurance plan does not cover telehealth, the following rates apply:

    • 30-minute return visit: $85
    • 45-minute return visit: $125
    • 45-minute initial evaluation: $160
